For your dose of culture this month, take a trip to scenic West Yorkshire to visit the iconic Hepworth Wakefield to discover the nominees for the gallery’s annual Hepworth Prize for Sculpture.
Established in 2016 as a £30,000 biennial award for a British or UK-based artist, the prize welcomes submissions from artists of any age and any stage of their career who have made a significant contribution to contemporary sculpture.
The shortlisted artists are Michael Dean, Mona Hatoum, Phillip La, Magali Reus and Cerith Wyn Evans. Their work will be presented in the exhibition throughout the coming months, with the prize being announced in November. Visitors have the opportunity to explore the work of the nominated artists.
The award-winning gallery boasts stunning views of Wakefield’s River Calder, giving you the opportunity not only to discover their latest exhibitions, but also to explore the area.
