Spring has officially sprung and here at Great Plains HQ we can't wait for long lazy days in the sun, after-work cocktails and brighter, lighter mornings (getting dressed in the dark is starting to take its toll).

Warmer days are making us want to cast off our layers, embrace floral prints and dress from top to toe in sugary pastel hues. As it's still a bit chilly to break out the flatforms and pack away our coats, we're looking to warmer climes with statement accessories that can be worn now, and later. Top of our wishlist is this hand-beaded clutch bag. Tapping into the trend for microbags that hit the catwalks last season, this compact carryall makes a refreshing change to the great big bucket bags we tote around on a daily basis. Saving hours of rummaging around for keys/lippy/pens, not to mention major shoulder ache, throwing the bare essentials into a mini clutch bag feels refreshingly right for spring, and channels the minimal new mood that's everywhere this season.

Here are 5 reasons why we can't get enough of this to-die-for clutch:
  1. The hand-sewn wooden beads nod to the 70s trend in a subtle but stylish way. In colourful sunbursts, they're sure to lend your look a luxe bohemian feel
  2. Bright and breezy, the sunshine yellow and slate grey colour palette is sure to cheer up any outfit - try teaming it with pared-back sporty separates to let it truly shine
  3. A detachable chain strap means you can wear it two ways. Slip it under your arm for an off-duty model vibe, or wear it as a crossbody bag when you want to hit the dance floor hands-free
  4. Sometimes great things come in small packages, and this cute-as clutch is a case in point. Take the weight of a heavy tote off your shoulders and channel low maintenance chic - simply throw in keys, card and lippy and you're good to go
  5. It's bang on-trend. All of our favourite designers showcased a collection of darling little microbags last season. Worn crossbody-style or swinging nonchalantly from a sun-kissed shoulder, downsizing is the way to go for Spring / Summer '15
