To start 2017 as we mean to go on, we caught up with Natalie, a mum and East London blogger at Style Me Sunday, to get her top tips on sale shopping and real life-improving resolutions. The message of the day: pause for a moment and take stock before the New Year shifts into gear.
Shop the sale
What’s your approach to sale shopping?
‘Don’t buy sale items just because they are cheap, make sure it’s something you’ll actually wear. Think about the upcoming season and whether it’ll see you through it. Now is also a great time to buy next year’s winter coat. Buy something that isn’t too fashion-led but warm, stylish and classic.’
Describe your wardrobe in 3 words:
‘Colourful, versatile and feminine.’
How will you be kick starting 2017?
‘Instead of writing a long list of resolutions for the year ahead, ones that I invariably fail at and which subsequently makes me feel rubbish, I’m concentrating on a list of things that make me happy. It’s really helped me start the new year feeling invigorated and hopeful.
On my ‘happy list’ is vowing to get outside more. This includes trips to the beach, even if it’s not sunny because the sea air makes me feel good. I also plan to listen to more music and spend more time working on my blog because it’s what I enjoy and it instantly lifts my mood. Lastly, expanding my repertoire is pretty high on my agenda. ‘
‘The detail on the back of the Bow Tie Tunic Top gives a wearable knit an unexpected touch. I’ll be wearing it well into SS17. I chose the coat because it demands attention, it’s a great stand out piece but equally very classic, which means it won’t date easily and the dress is extremely flattering.’
